Man arrested in Ocean City after medley of weapons found in car

There are times when an Ocean City area resident may find themselves facing serious charges. These charges could lead to jail time and fines if a person is convicted. A man from Smithburg is now facing serious charges after a traffic stop in Ocean City.

Man arrested on weapons charges

A man from Smithburg was recently pulled over in the area of 13th Street by an Ocean City police officer. The officer observed that the driver was driving a car with expired tags. The officer ran the tags and discovered the car was not insured. The officer pulled over the car and allegedly observed a can of beer in the driver’s cup holder although the driver did not appear to be intoxicated.

The officer then searched the car and discovered a variety of homemade weapons. These included a 7-inch blade attached to a tennis racquet handle and a deer antler with a sharpened point on one end and a handle on the other. The officer also allegedly found drug paraphernalia as well. The man is now facing various weapons and drug charges.

Criminal defense attorney can be an ally

Those who are facing serious charges in Maryland may feel like everyone is against them. A criminal defense attorney can be the trusted legal counsel a defendant needs in this situation. An attorney can investigate the circumstances surrounding the arrest and any evidence that was gathered. They understand that it is not uncommon for officers to make mistakes during an investigation or arrest and an attorney can aggressively defend their client’s rights. An attorney understands proper police procedure and if questionable tactics were used, a dismissal may be an option.
