This might seem like common sense, but it is easy to be in a rush and make haste decisions. Planning is key. Decreasing the distance you have to walk outside will mean less time for the potential of a fall. For example, you can park closer to buildings or do cardio inside.
Speaking of rushing, try to take small steps and stay focused. Your hands should be free of items unless you hold onto a handrail.
Wear appropriate winter clothing
You should wear appropriate clothing for the temperature outside, such as a jacket and pants. Otherwise, you might get distracted by being cold and want to rush.
